Be different

Edwin Balaciu

You only have this one life. Do whatever makes you happy :)
And I am happy when I can read, see or play great stories. Stories made by people who have an incredible imagination and do have an extraordinary story to tell!

Quote

There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self.

Ernest Hemingway

Always leave an impression

The worst which can happen is not to be seen. This doesn't mean to be continuously on an attention adventure and forcing people to look at you.
It means the worst which can happen is not to be hated but to be ignored. People may call you names and may hit you with fists but that is nothing compared to the void of not being acknowledged and seen.

Isolation is the worst which can happen to any human being. We are designed to interact with each other.

Books

Viktor Pelewin - Das fünfte Imperium: Ein Vampirroman

Viktor Pelewin

Empire V

This book is very philosophical, mythical and funny as well. It tells a story of a recently bitten guy who became a vampire and has to learn the way of a vampire. It describes how the mythical creatures are ruling secretly over the world by keeping the minds of people busy with two topics: Glamour and Debate
I love this book because it pictures a world which is full of unknown and hidden secrets.

Henri Charrière - Papillion

Henri Charrière

Papillon

Based on a true story it tells an incredible life. The life of a man who was punished for murder, although he was innocent. He spent decades in prison far from home on the other side of the world and tried to flee from prison countless times. Henri describes his thoughts while in prison and even tells the story of being imprisoned isolated for more than a year, how he found love in a native tribe and left them it to seek for justice and unfortunately got imprisoned again.
This book taught me that freedom is within myself.

Stephen King - The Dark Tower

Stephen King

The Dark Tower

Wow! Just wow! This series does include 7 volumes which means almost 7.000 pages of story which took King over 30 years to finish. This story does have everything!

Stephen King - The Dark Tower

Stanislaw Lem

The Star Diaries

Actually not just this book from him, but any book he wrote. Every single book he wrote is an amazing journey through philosophical and ethical questions combined with the fancy science fiction.

Other books I liked to read

  • Paulo Coelho - The Alchemist
  • Erich Fromm - Haben und Sein
  • Bill Bryson - A Short History of Nearly Everything
  • Stephen King - The last Stand
  • Michel Houellebecq - Atomised
  • Mikhail Bulgakov - The Master and Margarita
  • Ernest Cline - Ready Player one
  • George Orwell - 1984
  • ...and hundreds more!

Plot Twist

Vampire

Are you ready for a plot twist?

I have been a vampire the entire time :)

Born in Romania which is the most magical place on earth and still full of myths, compassion, love, darkness and dreamers. I have used the best of my skills to grow each day a better vampire than the day before.

Movies and Series

Braveheart

Braveheart

This heartbreaking story of a man who refused to bow down to a tyrant lost his love because of him taught me that you should never give up and a single man can change so many lives around him to the better.

Bram Stokers - Dracula

Bram Stokers - Dracula

This is one of the movies which taught me to be afraid as hell, because I saw it when I was very little, but after being afraid it taught me how to overcome my fears by facing them constantly until you get used to them.

One Piece

One Piece

I am watching this Anime since I am 15 years old and it taught me so much over the years. But the most important lesson I've learned from this Anime is:
Never give up!

The Simpsons

The Simpsons

Obviously one of the most popular cartoons which is full of references to books, philosophers, scientists and many more easter eggs which I am even after 20 years of watching still slowly have to discover. There are so many hints to these easter eggs which I can only understand by reading books and watching movies to understand these thousands of hidden references.

Other movies and series I like

  • What dreams may come
  • Ace Ventura: Pet Detective
  • The Mask (1994)
  • Attack on Titan
  • Overlord

Why even playing any game? It is not about playing a game per se. It is about experiencing stories in any form like books, movies, games or simply just good stories told by friends or colleagues. People simply enjoy good stories. We are made for this!
